I looked at a lot of scopes and found none clearer in this price range. Sharp and bright. Need to use pretty strong force to adjust power/focus, but I guess that means it will stay put. The etched reticle inspires confidence over the long haul, as it can’t break like wire. The windage capability is simple to use and my guess is it will work if I’m ever hunting on a breezy day – hasn’t happened yet. Holding zero remarkably well over the last 18 months on my Weatherby Vanguard S2 Sporter .308. The “clicks” are a true 1/4 MOA every time (unlike a cheaper Simmons scope I have mounted on a .22). This makes re-zeroing for different ammo or ranges very quick and easy, saving $$ on ammo in the process. Looks good too.
-Using Burris Signature Rings
-Using Burris Trumount bases – did NOT need the shim that is supposedly needed on “certain” Weatherby Vanguard/Howa 1500 models – I think it’s not need on the S2.
I credit much of the remarkable zero-holding to the bases and rings. The Burris Signature rings are a brilliant and simple design that improve alignment and hold as advertised. I purchased the extra set of “ring liners” with the built-in offsets. I didn’t need them. Using the zero-offset ring liners, the scope was practically dead on zero from the first cold shot using Barnes Vor-Tx 150gr TTSX-BT. It was frankly surprising that I wasn’t just on the paper, I was practically on target for the first 25 yard shot. Moved to the 100 yard range and with just a few clicks left, I was dead on where I wanted to be, just under 2 inches high at 100 yards, for a 200 yard zero. I thought it would take a long time and a lot of ammo, and it didn’t.
On the first pig hunt it was cold and rainy; Butler Creek flip-open covers kept the scope dry and popped open easily when needed. Never had issues with fogging or water on the objective. Always had a clear picture in those adverse conditions. I couldn’t be more pleased with the scope. The scope is an excellent performer, and an amazing value.

Easy to sight in and adjust. The distance hashes and dots actually do help in the wind and when at range. Holds zero. Doesn’t have the clarity of a Zeiss scope, but its definitely better than a cheapo no name brand. When considering the savings the trade off is worth it if you’re not ready to break the bank for a higher priced alternative. So far I’ve used it on targets out past 400 yards with ease. I know it can do farther I just don’t have any ranges close to me that can accommodate shots at distances much beyond that. I bought it to do shots out to 600 yards, and based on my experience so far I’m confident it will be capable of at least that, and probably further.

This was a screaming bargain at about $250.00. I have been in this game for a long time and the Burris products are top notch. I would compare to a Leupold costing twice as much.
The Burris is made in the Philippines, which is OK by me. Not a Chicom scope.

I put this scope on a Savage 6.5 Creedmoor for my son to hunt mule deer in MT. He harvested this buck @229 yards. 1 shot/1 kill!
You zero the scope in at 100 yards, then use the dots for longer distances.
This scope is accurate for shooting distances & has good clarity. My ($675) Leupold has better clarity, especially in low light, but I’m impressed with this Burris Fullfield E1. This is a very nice scope in this price range.

These are a very good optic for the price, tracking is perfect and if you zero correctly and know your ballistics this scope will serve you well for most needs. I have one on a .243, at 100m 3 shot groups were dime sized, moves elevation and wind age to determine if it tracked well and there were no issues and returned to zero perfectly. I grabbed two more of these last week and am buying another today, my most frequently used hunting rifles are getting these, for tactical applications I prefer target turrets and adjusting but this scope is worth every bit of the price.

I bought this scope cause I needed a new one for my 22-250 I put the old one on a new weatherby I got. This scope is so clear I love it and I think it will be my new brand of scope seeing as how nikon doesn’t want to be a part of the hunting business any more.

Just picked up my second one of these. For 330 bucks with Amazon Prime and the Burris Forever warranty you will be hard pressed to find a better 4.5-14×42 AO scope. The glass clarity rivals Leupold VX-II and III. It’s much better light transmission than my 2010-ish Nikon Monarch 4-16×42 for a little more than half the price of that or a third the price of a comparable Leupold. I was tempted to branch out and try a Vortex or SWFA when I bought this second Burris E1. I looked at several other brands and models in person after doing some research. I couldn’t talk myself out of just getting another Burris E1 4.5-14. If you’re happy with a Vortex, Hawke, Redfield, Nikon, Leupold, etc. awesome. If you want to try a Burris, you won’t regret buying this one. The E1 reticle does everything you will need for medium range. If you know what you’re doing, there won’t be any problems going out beyond 500 yds. The scope or BDC reticle doesn’t make you a stick. Practice does that.

It’s crisp and clear. Great eye relief . Over all I am just really impressed with this entry level Burris , if you can call it that. I have more expensive scopes and this I just like better. Just really clear and well made. I put this one on a 7mm rem mag. Been great on the rifle. I will definitely purchase another Burris after buying this one.

Very good clarity, easy to adjust magnification, focus, and parallax. Good detail when looking into some shadows. Definite keeper, especially for the price combined with Burris’s lifetime outstanding warranty

great price! Did research. Very good reviews on this scope. Haven’t shot with it yet but looks good and is very clear.

My scope arrived today I got it mounted, this is by far one of the clearest brightest scopes I have ever seen, my friend has a Zeiss and if you put them side by side you can’t tell the difference and his cost 3x more than this, my only complaint is that there were no lens covers not even the cheap bungee corded ones, other than that there is nothing else that even comes close in the under $ 500 range

This was the second one I bought, for the price it’s a great deal and perfect for me. Affordable well made good optics. These scopes are selling fast and hard to find on other sites. If you are thinking about it just buy it, soon to be phased out of production if not already.

This is an excellent scope for the price. Optics is clear and bright, reticle is well defined and the scope holds zero very well. Even though this is a great scope I returned it as I realized that I need a scope with higher magnification. 14X is not enough for my poor eyesight to shoot over 300 yards.

Absolutely love this glass, bought it for bother of my rifles. No parallax, clear crosshairs and the zoom is perfect for hunting game 50 to 500 yards. Holds up well in rugged pacific coastal cliff hunting. Only wish it came with lens covers, but that’s no issue to me. 5 star product.

For the money this scope is fantastic! I love how much light it lets in when the sun is going down and the overall quality of it. You can’t go wrong with Burris. I will switching all of my rifles with these scopes.

I must say after opening this box and scrutinizing this scope i’m very impressed, what a great value and product from Burris,… its for a 10/22 build project, I own many scopes costing 600.- 2k and this is a super value…. nice reticle and side parallax adjustment, plus their no question warranty…..Happy
