The Burris XTR II 1-8x24mm is the newest addition to the XTR II family, and it has quickly captured a big share of the 3-gun and tactical market. It’s also gaining popularity for hunting.
The 1-8x has extremely clear glass, with an absolute true 1x. That means no distortion or parallax issues when shooting with both eyes open. Being able to zoom out to 8x provides enough magnification for some truly long range shots, making this scope adaptable enough for any competitive situation.
Available in your choice of front or rear focal plane, each with a specifically designed reticle.
#201018 is the front focal plane scope, with Ballistic Circle Dot.
#201019 is the rear focal plane version, with Ballistic Dot reticle.
Which one to pick? Some people prefer the simplicity and speed of the rear focal as the reticle never changes no matter what magnification the scope is set at. Some shooters want the increased and finely-detailed accuracy that comes with front focal scopes.
The MAD Knob System means it’s easy to set up the scope with capped knobs, or switch to an exposed elevation knob if you want to dial in a solution. It’s your choice: the XTR 1-8x ships with low capped knobs installed, and the low exposed tactical elevation knob in the box. The exposed windage knob is available from Burris.

Tom B –
I recently picked up one of your 5-25×50 xtrii in the FDE and I must say I was very pleased with it the glass is great I love the zero stop and with the 34mm tube it pulls in the light at dusk i was very impressed I have used a lot of higher priced scopes and dollar for dollar the xtrii is the way to go
Robert T –
I purchased this scope a few months ago and mounted it on my Remington 700 Tactical. I had done a little work on the rifle and had already worked up a nice load that shot under a 1/2 MOA. After taking a few shots to sight the rifle in, I went to my father in-laws to shoot across the back of his property. I found a spot where I could shoot out to 835 yards by hanging my steel target in a tree. I plugged all of my information into my ballistics program and shot a little high and to the right. (This was my first time ever shooting past 475 yards.) The wind was giving me a hard time so I adjusted and almost hit the bulls eye. After shooting at 835 yards and 477 yards, I zeroed the turrets and shot at my 100 yard target to see if my turrets were going to adjust accurately. They worked great. I couldn’t be happier with this scope.
My old scope was a SWFA 3-15×42 and it was an okay scope for the money. The Burris XTR II in 4-20×50 helped me a lot and is in another world when compared to the SWFA scope. I wish that I would’ve saved my money and purchased this scope first. I love the glass and am a fan of the G2B reticle. It’s simple and it works. I like the turrets, zero stop, illuminated reticle, feel, and general quality of the scope. I truly feel that this scope is worth more than the asking price.
BarX –
I put this scope on my lr308 with a Rainer ultra match barrel. I’m very happy with its performance, clicks are crisp and correct and easy to use with zero stop. Glass is clear and I realy like the f-class moa retical since it’s ffp. The only thing I would change would be the brightness of the illuminated retical. There are 11 brightness settings and under the 7th you can’t tell its even on in a dark room. I know they did this with night vision in mind but I think it would be beneficial to have it be brighter so when shooting at a black target in the middle of the day it could offer some contrast. I would send it back in if they would do a modification to enhance it, hint hint Burris. Overall it’s well worth the money and I’d recommend it!
DCS Shooting Comp –
I bought this optic to shoot PRS production division. This optic sits on top of a 5.56 Precision AR Rifle. It shoots lights out. The optic is crystal clear and the turrets track very well, performed a box test and perfectly ended up where it started. I highly recommend if you are looking for an optic that is high in quality and workmanship then Burris is your go to optic.
Thomas3411 –
I bought the 3-15×50 in the G2B reticle to replace another optic I had for about 2 years, said optic MSRP’s for a few hundred more dollars than this Burris. After looking through some friends glass I determined that I was out to sell my scope and pick up this Burris, to me personally the Burris has better low light performance and better optical clarity, zero stop is easy and great, has 10mils per rev, the clicks are audible and tactile, the turrets feel great and positive texture in the hand. And it tracks! it tracks better than two of my buddies scopes that MSRP for 1-1500$ more than this Burris. I’m very happy with this purchase and am looking forward to what Burris will come out with in the future!

Great FFP Scope
I’ve had this scope now for close to 6 months and it is mounted on a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle shooting targets at 100 to 600 yards. Clarity is very good as is focus and parallax adjustments. Windage and elevation adjustments are precise, and easily made by counting clicks or viewing the knob graduations. Best of all the adjustments are repeatable, so if you dial out for shots past your zero distance returning back to your zero is accurate and spot on. The Zero Stop works.
I’m quite pleased with this scope and consider it a bargain and there is little different between the Burris XTR II and another leading brand I own that costs almost twice as much.
One_shot –
I am Army sniper qualified and a semi -pro competitive marksman. I’ve used this scope for the last 6 months. I had it on a .300 win mag, and now sits on my .308. Just recently used this at the Mammoth Sniper competition and placed 6th with it. Absolutely cannot beat this scope for the money. The turrets are easy to ready, adjust, and are repeatable. The SCR MIL reticle is great for competition. I will be getting another one.
Fleeceman –
I bought the XTRII 5×25 with the G2B reticle to put on a new Bergara in
6.5 Creedmoor about a month ago. To this point I couldn’t be more pleased. The scope is clear and sharp. I have only been able to sight in and shoot at 100ydsso far, but look forward to shooting at distance to take advantage of the adjustable turrets and 25 power optics. When I compared this one to similar scopes made by other companies, the decision was a no brainer. What you get for what Burris charges is a super value. This is my 3rd Burris optic and I’ll keep coming back!
mississippigun –
Previously used Nightforce Comp (great glass) but the thin reticle would disappear in a mid to heavy mirage. Regardless of glass quality, if you can’t see the reticle, you will not hit the target.
Tried the XTR II 8-40×50 and found the glass was about 90% of the NF Comp but the reticle was perfect. It’s always framing the rings on the target regardless of the magnification setting due to the FFP. First purchased my first XTR II 8-40×50 in 2017, my 2nd early 2018 and just recently received my 3rd.
in 2018, this scope help me win the Australian National F-Open, Australian National F-Open Grand Agg and the Mace Medal F-Open at the Australian National.
specter –
got the new xtr2 1-8×24 with the ballistic circle dot got to take it out on the woods and play around with it for a couple of hours and i am very impressed the 1 power setting is just that its very clear and all through the zoom range little to no blurring around the edges over all i cant recommend it enough ! the only real down side is the weight but i can live with that !
Pinback –
The best scope I ever owned. This one has all the desirable features. Couple this optic with 34mm Burris Signature Rings and you have a winning combination. Burris hit the ball out of the park!
Springerpanhead –
I bought a used 3X12 and as with another reviewer the retical illumination didn’t work. I could feel that the control ring for the rheostat war loose. Removed the battery installation cover, lifted out the rubber washer under the battery, took a .050in. Allen wrench and tightend the two screws that hold the ring on. Took about 3 minutes total. Scope illumination now works perfect. Bought this great scope at a real good price because of that little problem. I am very very happy!!
Team mobusta –
This scope is a shooter great first focal plain scope with zero stop and a great retical
cccc –
Great scope with all the features of the $2k-$3k FFP scopes. SCR reticle is easy to use in hold over shooting and tracks perfectly throughout the magnification range. The zero stop turrets are easier to set than some higher priced scopes and return to zero every time. The scope is VERY comparable to other high end FFP scopes I own. It’s 34mm tube provides an excellent field of view and the clarity of the optics is VERY good…far superior to the Vortex Viper FFP. The turrets have solid feedback per click and all the milling on the scope makes all adjustments easy. I have now purchased a second 5x25x50 XTR II for a 300 Win Mag and it performed flawlessly at the range yesterday. I have shot both guns out to 725 yards and I’m extremely pleased with these scopes. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a top of the line FFP scope without breaking the bank. Had these scopes been available 2 years ago, I would not own any of the high prices FFPs that I currently own. GREAT SCOPE AT A GREAT PRICE POINT.
MtnMan40 –
I purchased this scope to put on my long range .308 LMT rifle. I am getting into long range competition. This scope has great glass and an awesome reticle. The scope tracks and zeros perfectly every time.
Pat Jr –
I purchased this one after the good luck i had with the 2-10X42 . That i put on my custom XP100 .20 Vartarg . Scope worked flawless , took 49 woodchucks with it . Longest being 445 yds . Simply love it .
Loadedv45 –
I bought a 5-25 with 8 mils per rev.
I’ve had it for several years on an ar10. It has never lost 0 and always dials true.
It’s been hauled through everything mud, water, snow, ice it’s been dropped kicked and sat on still solid
BRShooter –
Out of the box, this scope is very impressive. This is my second Burris XTR II scope and they have never let me down. Glass quality is superb, haven’t field tested yet but really have no doubts about it. The SCR reticle is everything I wanted it to be and more! Was a long wait getting this thing (now that it’s finally released) but was well worth the wait!! I will update my review after I get some time behind this new scope on my 308 Win.
HuntNfool –
I own a lot of scopes and this was the first time I added a Burris to my collection. Optics were clear, reticles sharp and holds zero well. Absolutely no regrets.

I love these scopes!!!
I have two of the these scopes and I love them. One is on a AR-10 custom build that my daughter & I built. The other is on my 300 win mag with customized Burris Scope Rings
Norcal_Shooter –
Great Scope, Clear, Rugged, worth every penny! I bought this scope with the Horus H59 reticale for a long range rifle I was building. I could not be happier. The optic is well made. Glass is clear. Good clicks, Zero Stop, and amazing reticle!
swh3 –
Optics crisp and clean. External calibrations are marked for a quick and easy read. Great match for a Larue mount.
Dero –
I’ve had my XTRii 8-40 for roughly two months and love everything about it. At closer ranges the magnification cannot dial all the way to 40 but is good clarity right up to 30 ( less than 100yds ).
As for long range clarity, I tested this out before mounting having a friend walk out to multiple distances and had no trouble reading his shirt at 500+yds.
I have this mounted on standard weaver mounts for rem700tact sa, with medium height rings and scope just clears the barrel. Very easy to dial in for 100, and 200 hole punching.
Lonnie8924 –
I bought the Burris xtr ii 5x25x50 with the scr moa reticle. It is extremely clear and is razor sharp. It tracks so well. I built a .308 ar-10 with the intention of stretching it out to 1000 yards. I put a lot of time and research into parts I put on the gun. I only buy the best. You can’t go wrong with Burris scopes. I have never shot past 100 yards until a couple of days ago. I zeroed the scope at 100 yards then consistently shot 300 and 500 yards with ease. It was too easy. I compared this scope to several other brands at the same price range. I chose Burris because of the total elevation it offers, the glass quality, and how rugged it is. You can’t hurt this scope. While I was shooting my gun fell over. Everything was fine the scope still tracked perfectly and no scuffs or damage to the glass or anything else. I guess my only complaint is that the scope caps fell off due to the muzzle brake and I didn’t know it then the next shot cracked the cap at the hinge and now my front cap doesn’t function like it did. Does anyone know where I can get another one I can’t seem to find Burris scope caps. Either way this is my first Burris scope and it won’t be my last.
Starky 1440 –
I have two XTR II scopes. Very clear. Adjustments are spot on. Repeatability is excellent. All the right features. This is a lot of scope for the money! I theach Law Enforcement Snipers. I do not understand some of the reviews complaining about the turrets, Why with a mil dot scope. Yes mils are used for hold over or hold offs. There intended purpose is ranging the target. Then adjusting the turrets for a precision shot. Provided the shooter has done his work at the range and has their range cards \ data cards put together. If your looking for a scope in this price range that preform like one for twice the money get a XTR II.
Tm88 –
I bought this back in March 2017. Being it’s my first scope I’ve ever bought it’s hard to give an “experienced review”. However using this scope for almost a year now with nothing but Happy reviews. I thoroughly enjoy the exposed turrets. After getting use to this scope for 9 months then using a modest Nikon mounted on a few buddies hunting rifles, you can greatly tell the difference This scope is truely a masterpiece which gives me goosebumps every time I look through it, even looking at the gorgeous lines of the body sitting in the case gives me the tingles. If you appreciate the little things in life like I do, perfectly machined tube, quality clicks of the turrets, mixed with the clarity to see hairs on some unintentional nut image 200 yards away. You’re going to appreciate this scope.
Tylor –
This scope if fantastic. At the price point i really don’t see how it could be beat. The clarity is top notch. The light gathering ability is spot on for its class. Illuminated reticle is nice. The turrets are positive clicks. The tracking of the scope is dead on. Holds zero on my Sako A7 30-06. I just took it out for a bear hunt when it was raining it didn’t fog up once. Overall you owe it to yourself to give this scope a look if your shopping for a mid high end scope. Do side by side against any scope in its price range i think you will be very impressed. Also one of the most important things (Forever Warranty). That’s enough said why buy from someone who doesn’t stand behind there product accident’s happen.
Wolfpch –
I received both the scope and rings and was impressed and I mean impressed with the packaging. I installed the scope on my .338 Lapua using the 20MOA Ring adjustments (up to 30 MOA). The FFP reticle is my first and I love the clarity of target acquisition without it being cluttered or obscured. The illuminated reticle is really a low light aide and not useful or needed in daylight. The turret are crisp and easy to read. The entire scope set up feels like it is a quality optic for LRP Shooting. You will be happy
rangejunkie308 –
Being a long distance shooter I’ve always bought high end optics, usually Nightforce. I purchased a new Remington 5r Mil spec for shorter 600 yard shooting and have heard some of the reviews on the Burris XTR ll and decided to give is a try. After using the Nightforce optics for years I was quite surprised with the performance of this optic. The optic isn’t as clear on higher power as a Nightforce optic is but it is on part with Leupold VX3. Where this scope really got my attention was the rectile and how it was spot on when I looked through it to check it’s accuracy against a measurement grid. The Mil dots and hash marks lined up precisely. The scope also tract perfect and passed a box text easily. The zero stop feature is as it should be unlike other companies that use shims. While it’s thousands of dollars it sure performs like the higher dollar optics. So far very impressed.
Red Dawg 34 –
I purchased the Burris XTR II scope in hopes to mount it on a new Ruger Precision Rifle but I received the scope prior to receiving the rifle. I ordered the scope because of its reviews. It was also my first purchase a First Focal Plane scope. I rarely order something of this value sight unseen but because of its reputation and my overall review, I took a chance. The scope came in this past Friday and I was anxious to open the box and get my first glance through the scope and my first look at the G2B Mil-Dot reticle. I was amazed at the clarity of this scope. Since I have not received the rifle as of this posting, I cannot review the use of the scope but I will follow the review once I have it mounted on the rifle.
I was in no way disappointed and look forwarded to following this review up with an actual use review.
Glassiseverything –
The build quality is excellent. Turrets are tactile as well as audible and very solid. the elevation turret comes exposed but has the option to capped (capped turret included). The windage turret comes capped from the factory, also very solid.
Glass quality according to my aging eyes is excellent, as good or better than my Bushell ERS. The only gripe I have is the 1X magnification which is not truly 1x but is comes very close, maybe 1.5, mind you I’ve never looked through a variable scope which is a true 1X.
Overall probably the best value for the price out there right now.
IdahoHunter –
This is a great product. If you understand how it works. This scope will perform. I read reviews about the scope and there seems to be a misconception about the turret not tracking properly. MOA is measured at 1.0472, which means if you dial 20 MOA up and measure you should be closer to 21”. If it tracked in inches it would say inches not Minute of Angle. Do your research and learn how to use this product and you will not be disappointed.
Loadedv45 –
Last year After owning a 5-25 xtrii along with a couple of other high end brand scopes I decided to buy a 4-20 h591 xtrii to put on my match rifle I was building in 6.5 saum.
I went with this scope because of the features, price and my experience with the 5-25 model.
Being my match rifle I wanted a scope that was precise with or without dialing. This means having a tree style or Horus style reticle. I prefer the h59 and it is my favorite of all current offerings anywhere. This scope is the lowest priced scope with this reticle.
While being the lowest price it is not the lowest quality rather it is very high quality in terms of workman’s ship, durability and reliability.
I wanted a scope that I could get out to 2k with on dial without using holds. With a 20 moa base and a 5 moa insert in the xtr signature rings I get 92 minutes (26 mils) of dial which gets me 2300 yards at my favorite range.
I’ve only shot in 2 matches so far with this rifle and scope with 6th and 9th place finishes. This scope also helped me get my 1500 yard milk jug challenge and 1000 yard milk jug challenge.
My only wish is that the xtrii h591 was offered in a 5-25×56
Other than that there is nothing to complain about

Hi…. I am using Burris XTR ii 8-40×50 ffp scope on my Remington custom 308…. Very good scope, positive clicks and correct reticle tracking.. ffp mechanism is so far holding zero with different magnifications at same distance…… Only slight down side is its less elevation clicks available…. if you are using warne Maxima 34mm medium mounts on Leupold 2 piece standard base ( as taught should be close to barrel) …. If you are using this scope for 308 Winchester without 20 moa bases then you won’t be able go past 850 yards with 175 SMK, using elevation turrets (you can if you hold over using MOA reticle)….. Rest everything is great….. Favorite question ” how clear is lens”.. well simple answer is ” It makes me see clearly what I am shooting at up to 1000 yards”.. I am yet to see a spotting scope that show clear bullet holes at 800 yards plus in conditions of Pakistan. Even Swoski hd is helpless….. I am writing this review because I have done quite a struggle to get this scope here in Pakistan and it’s quite practical or I must say “Genuine” target scope. Rest I know Shooters who are unsatisfied with March and S&B coz some people can’t see clearly and can never be satisfied at all…. I hope I answered most of this scope … Anyone want to know anything regarding this scope, I am pleased to answer
Arcticman700 –
I did a lot of research before buying this scope. I am very happy with my choice. Everything works like a dream. Clicks are nice and tactile and audible. Reticle is very user friendly. The magnification ring was somewhat stiff to adjust but I am ok with that, I ended up putting s throw lever on it anyway. Very pleased with this Burris.
Vapor –
I purchased the Burris Eliminator 3 with upgraded software, and COMPLETELY love it. I can’t say enough about Burris optics, to the point that whenever I’m at the range, people want to check out my scope. I’m always bragging it up and a few friends have purchased Burris scopes after seeing mine and taking a shot with it mounted on my 6.5 Creedmoor. And a few of them were completely sold on there Vortex optics, until they checked out my Burris. So when Ruger Precision Rifle announced that they are making the Precision Rifle chambered in 300PRC I knew I needed a new scope for that rifle and optics to get me out to a mile. So I just purchased the Burris XTR II 5x25x50 MOA with SCR reticle. And to put it mildly…. I am stoked to get it mounted and stretch its legs out to see how it performs.
Thank Burris

Burris has a winner here! They really out did themselves on this scope.
This isn’t just some review cause I own this scope….I’ve owned a lot of scopes, particularly ffp tactical scopes this has impressed me enough to write a review.
This was impressive enough so that I sold all my other scopes and now have two 3-15’s and the 4-20.( and the scopes i sold are high end)
Great glass…and I mean clear even at high power. consistent eye relief, and built like a tank. Love the turrets and ease of reading the windage marks. The zero stops are awesome. I could live without the illuminated reticle but that’s just me.
yhtomit –
This is my second Burris scope. My first was the incredible XTR II 1.5-8×28.
I mounted my 8-40×50 on a production precision rifle that I just bought. It zeroed flawlessly as I broke in my new barrel. The clarity at 40 rivals any of my high end camera lenses.
I think I am a member of Team Burris for life now.
Thanks for making a great product.
Jman –
Bought this scope several months ago for my AR10. Scope has excellent clarity and tracks true. In the future I hope Burris will add more advanced reticles to the XTR II line.

I pride myself on the ability to shoot beyond 600 yards. At 80 years of age I appreciate an excellent Riflescope that helps get the job done. The Burris 8-40X50 is an
excellent scope at a reasonable price point.
HoHoHo –
I have the xtr2 3-15x scr-mil and love it … I can see bullet holes in white paper at 500yds … none of my spotting scopes had been able to do that! I have it on .300WM … REM700 action, criterion barrel, mcCree chassis … usually shoot off manfrotto tripod … I live in rural area and the grass is too high to lay down much.
The illumination is great for using low power magnification and holding (I usually hold and don’t crank after zeroing). Illumination not good for NV as washes out the target, but that is true regardless of the scope or illumination. We don’t use illumination with NV, we do use it in the day time with the scope on low magnification, so we can see the hash marks on the reticle.
It is a bit long and a bit heavy, but on the 15 pound .300WM that is not an issue.
Jim d –
This scope is perfect for the 308 long range rifle I built. I Compaired it next to my S&B long range hunter and my Swarski Z6 scopes . Setup a target at 300 yards and compared image sharpness at sunset. I could not see any difference between the three scopes. Only real difference is price. Burris quality has really improved and it is apparent partnering with Stiner and Baretta they have created An extremely high quality M&P line of optics at a fantastic price.
Amine –
I got this scope; the XTR II 8×40-50mm, last month. Have it mounted with the Burris P.E.P.R 34mm (AR style scope mount) on my Rem.700 LA .300WinMag. It’s just amazing how awesome it does the job, no problems at all; great magnification power, crisp clear reticle, easy to adjust, turrets are flawlessly awesome with a solid gripy feeling, of course still holds zero after 200+ rounds I’ve shot since I got it. Only question I do have to the Burris Specialists or any others here, I shoot 8″ targets with this scope at 500, 700, 800, 900, and 1100 yards and its works perfectly when I use the Strelok Pro app on my phone, but it seems 1200yards is the limit on this scope. My question is, can I reach the 1400 or 1600 yards with it ??? If yes, how can I do that ???
RHardy –
Just mounted this last night and waiting for a dry day to take it to the range…but I didn’t let this stop me from sighting in dandelions in my back yard. LOL This is a very solid scope and would recommend it to anyone
Mike Grace –
I purchased this scope for a custom Aero Precision build. It is mounted with an Aadmount scope mount. The scope is rock solid and built like a tank. The turrets have positive clicks without being overly tight. The reticle is awesome, however I feel that the lower illumination settings are useless. That isn’t really a big deal because the other settings are great when needed. The glass is phenomenal. It is clear from edge to edge, even when set to higher magnifications. It is also a great scope in low light situations. I highly recommend this scope and believe it compares well with higher priced scopes.
Red Dawg 34 –
About six months ago I bought my first Burris scope. It was my first experience with a FFP scope so I was a little apprehensive. I had bought it in anticipation of getting a RPR in 6.5 Creedmoor but could not get my hands on one. Mounted this scope on a Remington 700 5R Tactical 308 and it has been amazing. The Burris ballistics tools have been right on and have helped me reach targets to 770 yards with no problem. Loved my first scope so much that I just purchased a second (Burris XTR II 5 X 25 X 50) last week to mount on my new RPR 6.5 Creedmoor. I just sighted it in last Saturday in about 9 shots. It took 9 because I put three in the same hole at fifty yards so I thought I was missing.
I would highly recommend any of the Burris XTR II’s. The clarity is great and the new ballistic tools are spot on. I’m definitely a Burris fan!

xtr ii 1-8 ffp. –I love this optic, nearly perfect features, it tracks well, it’s tough and the picture is clear. The price is fantastic, overall this is one of the highest value optics out there. I have no real criticism. If I had to pick it apart, I would like one to two more illum settings for the brightest of Florida suns, a simple, mil crosshair reticle with the mils in FFP and the impact dot and donut in SFP. It is a little heavy. Like I said, that’s asking a lot as this optic is fantastic! I will buy more of the xtr ii line due to my positive experience with this. Use: competition, target shooting. -prior service, combat vet.

I bought this scope about 3 weeks ago and have had it out to the range twice. After sighting it in, I have been consistently getting tight groupings from 85 yards up to 300 yards with my Ruger .30-06. The Zero Click Stop technology is excellent and the fine tuning with 1/8 MOA adjustment allows you to get it nearly perfectly on target. The clarity is outstanding and the ability to quickly adjust focus is nice when shooting with other people who may not see things quite the same. The reticle has taken a little getting used to but once I got it figured out, I love it. I would highly recommend the XTR II Riflescope to anyone for a hunting rifle or a tactical firearm! It is solid, holds it’s zero well, and is just fun to use.

I purchased my XTR II a little over a year ago for my Match rifle. I have shot it in many environments from desert to mud bogs. The latest was the SHC in Colorado where it rained everyday. I have over 1000 rounds on the scope and tracking tests performed at 500 rounds and 1000 rounds were perfect. I experienced no fogging or issues with the glass. This scope has been knocked around pretty good and it holds zero very well. During a night match last year I found the variable illumination to be extremely useful. The dials are clearly marked and the adjustments can be felt and heard, although they are very quiet. I especially like to ease with which the magnification ring works, allowing me to go from 5 to 25 very quickly which aids in target acquisition..yet the magnification holds when you set it. The eye relief is very forgiving relative to other optics I’ve had and used. The reticle is properly set as my holdover drills coincide with the dial exaactly. This is a fine piece of equipment, and a great value given the price point. My only issue (of course there had to be something, right?) is the width of the reticle at higher magnification, it gets a bit fat. And I would have preferred the SCR reticle…guess I’ll just have to get another one. No hesitation. (the photo was at the end of the first day of the SHC. Can’t see the optic but you can see the dirt and grit from the mud. Had no problems whatsoever)

This was my first “high grade” scope I have ever purchased. I ended up buying it from a friend becasue the warranty and everything still carries over! The zero stop on this is so simple! It is my favorite part about the scope. The glass is also very crisp and clear! Much better than my Vortex in this price range. The only reason I will be upgrading this scope will be for the SCR reticle!!

I wanted to look through a scope before I bought one…especially over the Internet. I came across this in a high end shop 2 weeks before Christmas on sale. I think it was mis-taged. I was able to compare to other high-end scopes there. I thought it was a little clearer and absolutely loved the first focal plane. There were several men looking at high end and seemed knowable as they talked about…expensive Safari hunts. I handed one of them this scope. The man looked through it and agreed it was clear but proceeded to tell me Burris did not have a good warranty. So I left with out buying and went and researched. Unless I missed something. ..Burris claims to have a no BS warranty. 1,000 was my upper end I wanted to spend on a scope. After all the reading I did and looking at the reviews. ..I called in first thing the next morning and put it on hold. I put this on a 6.5 C. and after 5 months of shooting this scope…I’m still in love with it!!!. I wish I could buy another one in silver for my 223 trainer. ..in case the burris rep reads this 🙂

I bought this scope a few months ago and have been pleased with all aspects of it. The glass is clear, the turrets have positive clicks and it is built sturdy. It’s a lot of scope for the money and you won’t regret purchasing one. Mine is the 4-20 with the Horus reticle. There’s a proce premium for it, but that reticle is a nice feature to have.
After zeroing at 100, I took it out and was very easily hitting steel at 910 yards on my very first long range outing with it. No walking in rounds, just dial and make contact. My second time out at long range I shot it at 1000 and once I figured out the wind, I hit 4/4 shots.

I purchased this scope on sale through Optics Planet. Got a great deal. Scope performs flawlessly on my custom AR platform. I use it with a Strelok ballistics calculator and it is right on. Have only shot on a range out to 600 yards but always goes right back to zero. Planning on getting the 8 x 40 for the Ruger Long Range Precision Rifle as soon as I can get my hands on one.

The Burris XRT II, has everything that I have been looking for in a first focal plain scope. The cross hairs are thin even when dialed up to 20 power. Turrets are firm, and with distinct clicks at each MOA. Illumination is adjustable and very visable.
The scope is well made, heavy duty tubing and knobs, glass is clear and over all appearance is outstanding.
I would buy this scope again and I incourage anyone looking to buy a quality scope to look at this one, you will not be disappointed.

This is a wonderfull scope. I almost purchased a vortex scope, but my friend showed how wonderful this scope is on his rifle. Hence, I changed my mind and got this scope.

I love my Burris XTRII 5X25X50 on my Tikka T3x Tactical 300 win mag. Very good scope for very good price! I recommend this product for serious shooter!

I’ve been using this scope for a while on a 300 Win Mag Savage 110 Stealth. No problems to date. Great features. 34mm scope which gives a fair amount of elevation adjustments, easy to use zero stop, its illuminated, good SCR-mil reticle, includes scope flip-up covers, holds zero, tracks accurately to date, etc. And it’s at a very reasonable price. Love it so much I just bought two more. I’ve got a couple of other scopes over twice as much with the same feature sets. Also, if anything ever breaks, Burris stands behind their product with a lifetime warranty. I’ve never had to use it, but it’s there if I ever need to. I really like the fact that I buy it once and it’ll last forever with the warranty in place.
