It was love at first sight. Lol! Where to begin, it’s expensive, I know. But this gun is a beast. It’s a breeze to shoot and very comfortable to carry and operate. Great AR alternative.

Received the rifle today. Excellent firearm. 350 rnds with no FTF or FTE. The trigger is not match grade but is comfortable and easy to work with. I did use the e-check option for payment. If your impatient be warned its a little slow. At shipping it was at my FFL in 3 days. I definitely recommend the rifle to anyone looking for a compact rifle with no tax stamp.

The Tavor X95 is what you would expect from Israeli Weapons Industries…genius in its simplicity and much improved over the Tavor SAR…especially in the ergonomics aspects. (More tailored to US military specs of an AR platform). Trigger pull is vastly improved over the SAR. My only gripe is the non- standard rail on the bottom of the forgrip. Looks like a picatinny rail only slightly oversized. Won’t accommodate certain common vertical grips or light setups. Otherwise, an amazingly compact, high quality weapon

ukrguns is awesome as usual. Shipping was super fast and the Tavor was exactly what I ordered in new perfect condition. With the issues with COVID ukrguns is knocking it out the park on getting you the guns you want. Highly recommend ukrguns for all your needs when you need that gun you cannot find anywhere else. The IWI quality is amazing.

Ordered this online from ukrguns. They contacted me quickly to verify who I was. I like that.
Order got to my local FFL within about 3 days. I like that too. ukrguns was right on top of it.
Now, the Tavor.
I really like the fact that it is short but (in my case) still has a 16.5 inch barrel. I bought it mainly as a home defense weapon and due to the length of the entire riffle being slightly over 26 inches, it fits that niche very well. I also wanted a riffle that can fire 5.56 and .223 ammunition. I have fired both types through it with good results. I’ve used the flip up sights (built right into the picatinny raiil) which take a little “figuring out” but they are easily adjustable for windage and elevation. This version of the X95 has a mag release much like an AR and it is ambidextrous. The safety is very easy to reach but not in the way. The majority of the weight is toward the back so it sits very snug into your shoulder. Since the front is lighter I don’t get as fatigued trying to hold it on target. Field strip and clean is really quite easy. It goes back together just as easily. I really have a lot of fun target shooting with it and it causes quite a “buzz” with the other shooters at the range. And hey!! It just looks cool!
I honestly never thought I’d be able to buy one but “went for it”. Not sorry at all. I just installed a new red dot and magnifier on it so back to the range to zero it in. Any excuse to go to the range… right? 🙂

This is a good gun, but I’m not sure it is worth the cost as opposed to an AR-15. It is heavier than an AR-15, but it is very well balanced out of the box so it feels lighter. Adding attachment, however, somewhat throws the balance off. I fired it in winter in Minnesota, and it jammed up. The misfeed is hard to clear due to the action being back in the stock. I had to pull the bottom off the magazine and empty the spring and other rounds to clear the jam. I went back then is wasn’t -40f, and the gun cycled very well with no errors. It is a blast to shoot and is so well constructed that it has no real recoil but feels like holding the power of Zeus when you shoot it. The picatinny rails on the front of the gun have very nice covers that make the foregrip smooth in your hand without attachments. The excellent balance of the weapon makes a foregrip unnecessary, but I got it a cool one anyway, because why not dress it up. You will need a good scope. The pop up sights are not great and clearly for a fall back, so plan to invest in a red dot or other scope.

The Tavor X95 is better than I had expected. My primary interest in this design is that it packs a 16.5″ barrel in a 26″ total length in 5.56/.223 and I do not need a tax stamp etc. I chose the X95 based on years of reviews being overwhelmingly positive with most of the negatives involving adaptation to operating it (I adapt quickly and easily to change). My only con is that I get a stronger odor of gases than with my AR-15. My use case is home defense and fun at the range, therefore accuracy is far more than sufficient. So far, with just 100 rounds at 25 yards using the builtin iron sights (outstanding design), the rifle is fun and easy to shoot and more compact than I had thought it would be, also very easy to field strip clean and lubricate. I look forward to shooting it with a MRO and, later, with a laser and light combo. With a few months of training, this rifle will join my AR-15 for home defense and fun at the range.

If you have any interest in bullpup-style rifles then this one is an absolute must. At first you will see it as odd or even bizarre, especially if you have spent a lot of hours shooting AR rifles. But you’ll get used to it quickly.
The X95 is a significant improvement over the earlier Tavor SAR. It’s a lot more compact than the AR rifles with similar barrel lengths. I can easily understand why the IDF replaced their M4 carbines with the X95.
I’m not going to dispose of every AR rifle I own and only keep the X95 but I will value and enjoy both types alongside one another. The price is intimidating at first glance but it’s reasonable when you compare it to the amount charged for European rifles of similar quality.

Finally fired my new tavor and loved it recoil was extremely minimal. I fired 200 rounds through it at the range and had no problems with jams or misfires. Cleaning this rifle was surprisingly easy and the built in popup sights are a nice bonus.

I was totally excited when I received my Tavor Bullpup. But after time went on I was getting discouraged with this gun. I was so used to my American AR’s and the placement of the firing and loading system. That I found I was having trouble loading the gun subconsciously as I use to do with my Daniel Defense AR’s. I just could not get used to the Tavor’s placement of their firing system and loading system. It felt strange and unusual to me and in an emergency I would probably revert back to my AR’s days and the gun would only hinder me, and I would have to think about the loading system. One does not want to be in an emergency and having to think about shooting and loading. So, after 6 months later I sold it, and have not regrets. Just my opinion !!!

Outstanding accuracy
Fitted with a mepro 21 it will ring plates at 500 meters on a 108 ft zero. More comfortable and compact than my ar without sacrificing any accuracy. If you can get one you won’t regret. IWI makes the best proven tested battle rifles.
