I upgraded to the Shield Plus from the original Shield. Like the original, it feels comfortable in the hand. Though the grip is very slightly wider, I could not tell the difference. Love the textured grip. Not overly aggressive. Trigger is crisp. Trigger reset is audible however, I did not find it to be tactile at all which is disappointing. The standard 3-dot sights are nice and bright. Would be nice if S&W changed the rear sight to have more of a cut to it so it could be used to rack the slide one-handed on the edge of our belt in an emergency. The “ramp” style of the rear sight is pretty much useless for that. Have yet to get it to the range but looking forward to doing that soon. If it shoots anything like the original then that only will make the product much much better. Giving it 4 stars due to the lack of the tactile reset that it claims to have.

Wow! They’ve finally fixed everything that has kept me from buying a shield in the past. Better trigger, better grip texture, better capacity, better mag release even. Was attracted to Shield Plus by extra capacity which I thought might give a better grip. For once I was right. Like all S&W guns of similar design this model is solid, well-made and reliable. How accurate for a short barrel? Beat my friend (who usually waxes my tail) at one-hole with first six shots out of the box!
As for ukrguns? Ordered Monday morning, arrived at FFL Wednesday morning. Can’t do better than that. Smooth transaction in every way!
