Im still having a hard time believing that I was able to get my hands on such a great rifle at an affordable price. Ive only had the rifle for a month but the construction appears to be solid with good fit and finish. The upper and lower receiver mate together well with minimal wiggle. The mag drops freely and doesn’t get stuck in the mag well as Ive seen some people experience with the AR-556. This rifle is a soft shooter, with its rifle length gas system, and shoots 1 1/2″ groups consistently at 100 yards (I’m not the best shooter by any means). I purchased the Vortex SPARC AR to use with this firearm and haven’t been disappointed in the least. I would not hesitate for one second to purchase this firearm again. Ruger’s lifetime warranty helped to put my mind at ease. I am yet to have a Ruger product that I haven’t fallen in love with and come to trust. I have a feeling it won’t be any different with this fine rifle.

I have not had this rifle to the range yet. Out of the box, I couldn’t be happier. Fit and finish are the usual Ruger quality. The trigger seems to be a noticable upgrade from the stock AR-556. I do like the handguard and the Magpul stock and grip. Very comfortable. Can’t wait to break it in.

It’s hard to find a rifle with more bang for your buck than this, especially when it is frequently obtainable for below $600. It is a vast improvement over the original AR 556 for only a small increase in price. It is an an extremely pleasant gun to shoot due to the full length gas system and the amazing trigger. The reliability has been great as well (I use almost exclusively Federal 5.56 55gr) I would definitely recommend this for any shooter, but especially for the first time AR buyer.

Love this gun. Have put 250 rounds through in the last 3 months. Only issues I had were with frangible rounds in an indoor range with several miss fires and FTFs during the first 50 rounds. The next 50 rounds fired without issue. The were rounds were not boxed but in small bags of 50, As soon as I got home I thoroughly cleaned the gun again using Ballistol. I always clean new guns before shooting for the first time. Gun seemed a little dryer than normal and heavy carbon buildup on the boat tail of the bolt. Upon cleaning, I lubricated the gun and left it a little wetter. I blame the initial frangible ammo and being to sparingly on the initial clean and lube. Last two visits to the range I used Federal American Eagle 5.56 without error. I love the upgraded trigger assembly on the MPR with its less than 4 lb trigger pull. I was stuck between Ruger’s standard AR 556 and the MPR. I am glad I went with the MPR with its upgraded components, components I would have added to an AR556 anyway.. Since I have bought the gun I have only added a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 Red Dot sight and 3x Magnifier I got off Amazon. Have got the Sig zeroed at 50/200 yards starting initially at 10 yards and then moving out to 50. All I can say is that I love this gun and highly recommended. Except for an initial hiccup, it has been perfect.. Lastly, the experience shopping with ukrgunsShop has been outstanding. They have always been quick to ship to preferred FTL. I have used they Lawaway service as a Team ukrguns Member without issue or worry.

My FFL is also a shooting range, while I wait the required 72hrs I was able to use it at the range. Great rifle for the price. I%u2019ve only put about 200 rounds through it so the jury is still out somewhat but not a single jam or misfeed. I was using herters target ammo I got from cabelas. But I%u2019m interested to see how it functions with a couple different brands. The rifle is very accurate, I have a primary arms gen III 1-6 scope with the chevron sight picture. I haven%u2019t shit a ton of AR%u2019s this is my first time owning one but I%u2019m pretty happy with the purchase. Only little snag I had was when reassembling it the cotter pin that holds in the firing pin was giving me trouble going straight in I had to mess with it a bit the first time. Overall fun rifle to shoot and easy purchase process with ukrguns.

This is my first AR, even though I have been shooting for 50 years. It is reliably sub moa with ammo it likes. I am picky about triggers and like this one. The first stage is about 1.5 lb, and the second around 3lbs. Very smooth, no grit. No malfunctions or jams in the first 80 rounds. It’s had a complete field strip and detail cleaning every 20 rounds. I was raised by people who had responsible job in New Haven’s gun industry back when. Maintenance guarantees value. The gun has more fore-coil than recoil. Having fun.

Excellent factory AR at this price point. Trigger is a big upgrade from most stock AR triggers. Not a Timney, but much better. Fit and finish are ok. Some slop in the receiver, but can be easily resolved. Good furniture on the rifle right out of the box. 18″ barrel is nice and produces nice groups.

Bought this weapon for many reasons: Ruger name and reputation, superb price and previous customer reviews. Set it up with a red-dot and co-witnessed Magpul pop-up iron sights. Took it to the range and after sighting in the AR556 I was impressed with its overall performance. Used both the optics and the pop-up and they were both as accurate as the old man shooting could expect them to be. The mag provided with the weapon did not lock the bolt open when it was emptied but my other mags worked as advertised. On the third round through the weapon I experienced a failure to feed (not unexpected with a new weapon) but the remaining two thirty-round mags performed flawlessly. Have had a Ruger AR 5.56 for a year or two and love it so when I saw the price ukrguns had on the Ruger AR 5.56 MPR 18 I had to get one. I am not disappointed. Picked it up late afternoon and wanted to put rounds through it before dark. Knew I should have cleaned and oiled it first, but when it comes to new guns I am a child. Like an idiot I took it right out of the box and started shooting. Of course it jammed and jammed. My fault totally. I took the bolt apart, hit it with brake cleaner, then lightly oiled it and now it eats anything flawlessly. Very accurate, except with Tula 55 grain FMJ. It sprays that stuff. It groups everything else good to very well. Doing 1/2″ ragged holes sighting in my Primary Arms 4-14 x 44 5.56 HUD ACSS scope at 60 yards with Perfecta. Groups 69 Gr IMI, Wolf military Classic, Wolf Gold 55 Gr FMJ and 75 Gr HP Tula quite well too. If the wind ever dies down I will try it out to 600 yds. and see what it does. Can’t beat this rifle for the money. I hate to put it in those terms though. A good rifle is a good rifle, regardless of the price tag. This is a darn good rifle, period. Enjoy the rifle, enjoy the price.

Ruger has been absolutely killing it over the last few years. I have the Ruger Precision and now this (this isn’t first AR) and LOVE this thing. My dad has a $1,300 AR that doesn’t even shoot as good as this. It’s light recoiling thanks to the full-length gas system and it’s nothing but reliable. PLUS, the price! Find me another AR for less than $700 that’s as good as this one right out of the box. The trigger is light, smooth, and crisp and it’s very easy to make good follow-up shots. I think the only thing I’ll be replacing is the charging handle. It’s not bad but it’s not a BCM Gunfighter or a Radian Raptor. All in all, I give this thing six stars. BUY ONE!

I’m no AR fanatic, nor am I crazy about guns in general, so take this with a grain of salt. This is my first AR/personal weapon purchase, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. First day at the range I shot probably 400 rds 62 gr ammo. There was 0 malfunctions and this weapon was a pleasure to shoot. Each time I was surprised by the lack of recoil and the amount of control I was able to demonstrate. I was maintaining 1.5in groups out to 100yds pretty comfortably using a $100 monstrum 3x scope I picked up off amazon on a lightning sale. ukrguns was a pleasure to work with, they shipped fast and had great communication when my first FFL backed out of the transfer. I bout a sling locally the is the only rifle I have ordered that I can%u2019t tell how to hook up the sling? But I love dealing with ukrguns and will continue to do so

The bad is ruger makes no accessories for this rifle you have to get aftermarket. The BCG is not a m16 it Rogers own and you can not get a replacement or swap for a m16. Otherwise the gun is a great gun out of the box. I have had no issues whatsoever with it. A great starter ar15.

Though I haven’t had a chance to do any accuracy testing, I can attest to this rifle’s reliability and functionality. I bought this rifle to replace a S&W M&P Sport, which was a great 1st AR. I was amazed at the difference in recoil between the two firearms. The Ruger’s rifle length gas system is so much softer recoiling in comparison to the carbine length gas system on the S&W! The Ruger also has a wonderful trigger. I recommend this rifle, and believe it is a great value for the money, especially considering all the great features of this rifle. This was my second purchase from ukrguns and I am more than pleased with the service they provide and very fast shipping; my rifle arrived at my FFL dealer 2 days after ordering!
