I am really liking this scope for my 10/22 takedown. Love the different magnification, eye relief is very nice, and it seems to be of good quality. Very satisfied with the purchase. A couple of things drop a star:
1. I leveled the gun and the scope when installing, but the vertical crosshair seems to be slightly off. I gauged it by sighting against a known vertical object. The horizontal is fine. It’s not huge deal though.
2. The adjustment knobs are kind of mushy and I don’t feel any click at all in them. I was able to sight it in just fine though, and shot some very respectable groupings.

The scope is well made and finished, and optically it is not bad at all; more than adequate for .22lr. Eye relief isn’t great, but at this price point it isn’t a big deal.
The turrets are finger adjustable; but be careful here: They are very stiff, the clicks are barely discernable, and I am not convinced that 1 click = 0.25 MOA; I would go by the markings on the turret ring instead.
So far it has held zero through about 500rds on separate range visits, in all sorts of weather. I’ve left it on the rifle for field-stripping and cleaning and there’s been no problems.
Can’t go wrong for the price.

I understand this is a entry level scope. I’m not expecting premium scope quality. I put it on a 10/22. Instalation was easy and solid. When I zeroed the scope I found the adjustment clicks were mushy and didn’t lock in place. I got the scope zeroed in on a bench vise and handed it off to my son who is an excellent shooter. He couldn’t hit a 16×24 target at 50 yards. We bench zeroed it to his eye and brought the pattern down to 6 inches. I tried shooting with it and was off the target. I own premium scopes and this has never been an issue. Eye position seems to radically affect aim point in our experience. In hindsight I would have paid an additional $100 and got a better scope.

Good scope. Put on my Ruger 10/22 and zeroed in easily. Very accurate for a squirrel scope and was able to easily acquire targets and bring them down with very accurate shot placement. Very reasonably priced and good quality product so far I am pleased with this purchase. I used weaver rings rather than the provided ones and a picatinny rail

I have a 63 year old Mossberg 22 mag. I bought when I was in 5th grade. I have looked for years for a scope and mounts to fit it. I Saw this Simmons 3×9 32mm and knew it was a fit. I have Several very high end Leopold Vortex Scopes which cost hundreds of dollars on my hunting rifles and this Simmons shoots just as good and the optics to 200yards is great. I shoot a five shot pattern at a hundred yards the size of quarter. I just used a laser at 100 ft to sight scope in and never did any adjustments while shooting. Bob K.

Bought this for my barrel break pellet rifle, comes with rings but was able to use the rings that came with the rifle. The rifle came with a 4×32 scope that was absolute junk… I wasn’t expecting much for this price but have to say this is a great scope. Was one click away from being dialed in out the box. The lenses are clear and easy to adjust on the fly. Will buy another for my .22 rifle, I’m that impressed. If you’re reading reviews to decide, just go ahead and order it, like I said I’m getting another one.

This is my 3rd Simmons 22mag 3-9x scope. The first two have performed flawlessly for 7 years, one on a Ruger 10/22 and the other on a Ruger American bolt 22mag. I’ve lost zero one time and it was not the scopes fault (gun fell off the hood of a truck), I re-zeroed the scope and its been great since… I’ve used the included rings on 2 of my guns with no issues. This 3rd scope went on my Marlin 60 with the included rings. As with the case of any “screw” on any gun, take the small extra effort and use some blue loctite, it will save you from some possible future headachs.. If you have the bank account to go out and purchase a high end rimfire scope, do it, I would also. But, since I do not have that bank account lol, I do not feel like I’m “setteling” with this scope. It really is a solid scope for the money..
RowdyRon –
Whoever put the elevation and windage adjustment turret caps on the scope put them on way to tightly. I have been struggling trying to unscrew them and still no luck. Very disappointed that they have been installed too tightly. Now, I will probably scratch them up trying to unscrew them with a plier or vice grip. Very frustrating. Edit: I finally was able to remove the adjustment caps by applying Kroil to them, wrapping with 5-6 layers of electrician tape, and then using a pair of pliers.
basssssin –
Not bad overall. Eye relief was better than my old tasco, but glad I’m only shooting this on a 22. Mounting was pretty bad because the scope rings had to be adjusted over and over. Hard to get scope lined up correctly at first with the mounted scope rings. Shoots fine, but we’ll see after more rounds through it.
Chris Rodriguez –
Bought this scope for my marlin model 60 and it came out really good. I am new to scopes and figured this one had alot of positive reviews so I bit the bullet and ordered it. Very good quality for the money although it had some damages on the outer scope ring but didnt affect it. Took me a while to adjust only because I was not shooting on a rest. Still havent perfected the scope fully but i am very happy with 2″ groupings until I can take the time to adjust it.
Mike M. 💀 –
Scope came in a perfect (Amazon) box no damage, but open that box and the scope box itself was smashed the box in that box with the mounting rings was also smashed it looked also like it had been open at one time or appeared that way from box damage, the scope itself looks fine no damage that I can see and I hope there isn’t any internal damage not knowing why the box looks like it was ran over by a truck have some concerns of course, but against my better judgement of the appearance of the box I decided to keep it and mounted it to a Marlin west point edition 22lr on dovetail looks and fits just great using only what came with the scope. Do to weather it will be some time before I can set and test the scope, hope everything works, time will tell, other than the condition of the box I like the scope on the rifle. Crossing my fingers the crosshairs are ok.
C Mikles –
I got this to mount on my old Winchester Model 190.
The scope mounted easily with the supplied rings. Be aware that it’s for a .22, so you don’t need to warp the scope body tightening the rings. I wasn’t scientific about it, but just tightened it by feel. I eyeballed the rectical to make sure it was level.
Once on the range, it hit about a foot high at 50 yards. I moved the zero down to match and it works fine.
A few of warnings. They don’t bother me, so I didn’t take off stars.
1. The eye relief changes quite a bit from 3-9x. Make sure you have plenty of cheekrest left to move your head forward when cranked at 9x.
2. The turrets have a tactile click, but it is not very noticeable. They don’t move around easily, but it’s hard to tell when you moving the dial.
3. There is a bit of distortion around the edges of the field of view. If you can’t live with that, save up for something else.
Overall a good product. Not fancy, but doesn’t need to be. Helped me outshoot my buddy for who’s paying for lunch. Would recommend.

Bought this for my full size Ruger American in 22lr. Scope fits factory dovetail mount with included rings. Ideal for 50 yds. 100 yds and beyond requires use of spotting scope or splatter targets to really see what you’re doing. Extraneous light seems to enter from NW quadrant of scope for some reason. You can see internals of scope. Kind of a waste of space compared to better quality, more expensive scopes. Didn’t impair sight picture. Elevation and windage controls are clumsy and have a poor, negative feel when engaged but still function and held 0. Scope is light weight and helps rifle retain light weight characteristic. I recommend this and would buy again for budget .22 lr.
Kirk Mc Knight –
there is nothing to like or dislike yet. The rings that came with it are crap and I had to go to Walmart today and buy a set Of Weaver 1″ scope rings. They fit my base, whereas the ones that came with it fit but would not tighten up on the base. Wobble too bad to even think about trying them. The scope does seem clear but needs to be leveled and tighten up to the scope rings and base to see how it works. Will update as time allows. I’m 71 and retired and work??? at my own pace, which now is way slower than I ever worked in my life. Kind of like it!!
Jeff S. –
Was decent while it lasted but under a year and the rectile appears broken and is no longer able to be zeroed in. Warranty must be shipped on your own dime and include a check for $10 to ship it back. If the replacement doesn’t last a year it will be money better spent on a higher quality scope.
R. DevinneyTop –
This scope provides a sharp, bright image and clear crosshairs. There is a focus ring for getting the sharpest view, and it requires adjustment when you go from 3 to 9 power, like most variable power scopes. Sighting it in is precise and requires no tools.
The rings that come with it are for a 3/8 inch rail. My 10-22 came with an oddball rail which had a 1 inch groove and something bigger that 3/8, so I bought 1-inch low profile rings and it fits fine. In a pinch I think you you could use this on a high-power rifle since it has a 1 inch tube. The ring that adjusts power is a little stiff but it is still new.
ben campbell –
Not a fan of the mount but putting that aside how can you not be THRILLED with this scope for under $40? Seriously, you’d have to be a huge scope snob to overlook this for the price super clear glass from 3-9. Unless you’re use to shooting $1000 optics this is what you are looking for, the search is over. Buy new mounting rings put this on your 22 and never look back. Perfect set-up for $50 (after buying weaver rings). Put this on my pops old Remington nylon 77 love the scope.
Christopher Evans –
On the plus side, the optics are super clear. However, the one I received would not hold alignment. I was firmly mounted on my Ruger 10/22, which is well known as an excellent gun. At an indoor range, shooting from a gun rest, I could dial into target and then as soon as you gently sat it down to switch clips or run-in the target, it would be shooting 4-6″ from where it was a minute ago. I know this scope is dirt cheap, but I was hoping for more based on the reviews. It seems like I might have gotten one of the poor ones. I aligned different scopes on two other rifles the same day, a .223 and a .308, and got both of those to hold fine, so I don’t feel it was anything with my technique which caused the issue.
One other note, which may be a plus or minus for you, the eye relief is really long. I generally like a long eye relief, but this one is so big I had to push the scope and rings all the way forward on the rails to get good visibility when I shouldered it. With it being mounted on a Ruger Take-down, with the scope that far forward, it no longer fit in the stock bag.

Really good scope for my Marlin 795 22LR and this thing pulls the rounds right in to a nice group. Makes it fun to reach out 50, 100 and 200 yds (depends on wind). Glad I purchased this and the mounts fit right on. No extras needed everything was included.

Perfect “Budget” Scope.
– Used this to upgrade my Classic Henry Lever Action Rifle. (Basic model)
– Easy to mount, fit the rifle right out of the box with the provided rings (weaver mount).
– Works great, holds Zero, I can now hit those groundhogs I was missing at 75 yards with Iron sights.
– Took me about 10 shots to get it dialed in @50 yards. I didn’t find the adjusters to be cheap or unusable as others have commented.
– I do think the threads on the covers are ridiculously small but it is what it is. You shouldn’t have to change them.
– I like the 3x-9x zoom ability over a plain 4x. I find this is plenty bright.
Matthew C. Crabbe –
I bought this as it was a recommended accessory for the Marlin 795, from a number of 3rd party sites.
But don’t be fooled. It is a cheap scope with no eye relief and the glass is not clear. If you are looking for a cheap effective scope, there is a certain 6-24x scope available on here that is a much better purchase.
Richard S. Gargurevich –
Every once in a while, China makes a quality product. For less than $50, you are not going to get a scope made anywhere else. This one is actually really nice, compared to the one that came with my rifle in 1973. I can’t believe I didn’t upgrade it sooner. Nice and bright, with clear glass and smooth zoom operation. Sighted-in easily without chasing the zero all over the place. The adjustments have positive clicks and you don’t even need a coin to adjust them. I was done in 15 minutes. Contrary to some bad reviews regarding the mounts, mine worked well. They came with a thin layer of black tape on the insides which I would imagine was their way of eliminating the need to lap them in. Either that or they might have made them too big and this is how they fixed the problem that some people had with the mounts slipping. Seems kind of hokey, but this scope is not going anywhere. I would suggest a couple of things when installing it so you don’t have any problems. 1) Mount the scope and rings loosely at first until you can determine the best ring position and eye relief. Then remove the scope, replace it with a 1.000″ diameter steel rod (I used my lapping bar) loosen the mount clamps and then re-tighten them to 25-30 in/lbs. Then replace the bar with the scope, level it and use blue Loctite on the ring cap screws. Torque them evenly to 18 in/lbs. without bottoming out either side and you should have no problems with it coming loose on a .22.

To preface my review, I’m a novice rifleman at best and this is my first time buying, mounting and sighting a scope. As the picture shows I’m using a standard Ruger 10/22, monstrom rail, weaver scope rings and CCI standard velocity hp ammo. It was 30 degrees American, with high winds blowing from my back while shooting from an unweighted bench without clamping the rifle to a vice.
50 yards after the rifle was sighted and all rounds were touching in my final group with the scope at maximum magnification. Accuracy is there for what I need with a 22lr (small game hunting from 50 yards and closer)
The scopes listed parallax is at 50 yards, which is expected as that’s the maximum distance for 22lr before most rounds experience drop.
The glass clarity and eye relief is amazing at the lowest setting, and hitting 2 inch targets from a bench I suffered minimal accuracy between lowest and highest magnification.
However, at highest magnification the crosshairs are fuzzy and clarity of my target went down. As I said I’m not a rifleman, but the decreased clarity didnt hinder my ability to consistently put holes in paper. Clarity is good enough to see the holes in paper at 50 yards.

Mounts easily, comes with the mount rings, fit well on my Rossi lever action 22. Seems to be accurate, still have to do a little more sighting in but works great and a big help for shall we say, more mature (ok, old) eyes! I use this mostly for target/plinking and it does the job well at a great price.
Terry R. Rice –
Excellent scope for the money. Clear sharp view. Does not creep any as I fired 50 rounds and still dead on. I am using it on a Marlin 22XT Mag though. Not so sure how it would hold up on a higher power rifle with a lot of recoil. I installed the scope and tried to bore sight it, but could not see down the barrel and do not have a sighter, so I decided to start at 20 yards and go from there. The first shot was 2 inches low and about 2 inches left. I cranked the windage about 3/4 turn and raised it up 1/4 turn. Got lucky as it was dead on and 1 inch low. Backed off to 40 yards and it was dead center and grouped 3 shots within 1/2 inch. Backed off to 100 yards and shot 5 shots and all 5 grouped within an inch of the bulls eye and still does the same after 50 rounds. I have NEVER had a cheap scope sight in with basically 2 shots and no bore sight at all. It may be cheap, but it is ideal for a 22 mag for sure
Jesse James –
I love the optics of this scope nice and clear and fully adjustable to suit me. However the windage and elevation adjustments leave a LOT to be desired. I rate them three stars because of the difficulty in elevation adjustment. There are no audible clicks nor do you feel any clicks on the adjustment. But the clarity of the optics and the cross-hairs are great.
John –
Good scope for the money went out to the mountain and ran 325 federal .22lr rounds through my ruger 10/22 it held zero and turned my rifle into a tack driver the turrets are not 1/4″ moa and it would not adjust at 9x it was way off to the left and would not adjust to the right not sure why but when i back it down to 4x it zerod right in hitting sub moa ill have to play with it but for a plinker or even a small game hunting scope should do fine i will update next weekend when i take it out again and see how well it holds its zero
GSDMom –
This was a gift for a friend who has a 795 Marlin. He/She/It loves the clarity of the sight picture and the ultra thin Truplex reticle. He/She/It tells me they can drive nails from 50 yards with this scope. The mounts didn’t work well in the Marlin’s dovetails and had to be filed to fit. As stated above, this was a gift for a friend, therefore no presumptions of gun ownership should be made.
Jim Klemchuk –
I received my Simmons scope and mounts much sooner than scheduled. I have mounted the scope on my new Marlin 795. It was easy to sight in and I find the combo very accurate and fun to use. I am glad that I didn’t order another set of mounts as some suggested in their reviews. I can’t see why anyone should have any problems if you use common sense and do not over tighten. This is a very good scope with decent mounts.
Robert Gonyea –
Out of the box seemed like a decent unit.
First 3 trips to the range, no problem.
Last trip, 3 days past Amazon return window…
Loses focus/blurs after every shot. Don’t bother with adjusting you’ll have more luck sending another round down range which might knock it back into focus.
For $36 to work on the basics maybe ok.
But if you’re going to be using it more than once every 3 months and or more than 100 rounds a year better just look at a higher price point.
*Mounted to a Ruger 10/22 Standard
Indoor/Outdoor range shooting 25/50 yds
Ryan T. –
Honestly impressed with this scope. Bought it for an old .22 and it’s great. The scope rings are garbage as everyone says but the scope itself is works great. I bought a nice Vortex for my .450 bushmaster and this scope has less eye relief than my vortex, believe it or not. It’s not a Leupold or high end scope by any means, but for if you’re looking to buy a cheap scope for a plinker this ones a solid choice.
Charles Rivers –
Ok scope for the price point. Murky glass. Even shade-limiting light causes poor visibility in magnifications over 6x. Forget the last 30 minutes of fading light after sunset. *Very* mushy turrets. It does hold a zero and hits what I’m aiming at which is job one. Will get replaced and stuck in the “shoulda got something better box”. Life is just getting too short for cheap scopes.
Hotrodirene –
I purchased this scope for my Ruger 10/22. As most have noted, the rings that come with the scope are not compatible with the OEM Ruger rail so you should consider purchasing new rings if you decide to purchase this. Looking through the scope is fairly clear and crisp. The eye relief could be a little better but you can’t complain for the price of this scope. Also, you do need a screw driver to adjust the elevation or windage. It’s easy to get spoiled when your other scope are easy turn and clicks turrets. In the end what matters is performance. It only took a few adjustments to zero in the scope and I probably shot my best grouping at 25yds ever. After 100rnds it held zero. Great budget scope but make sure to get rings.
T-Bone85 –
I have used scopes to shoot with all my life – (50+ years)
This has to be one of the best scopes I have used for the price. Excellent clarity – and even as my eyes are going “bad” to be able to dial in the crosshairs is another excellent feature.
I did make one mistake when ordering it – this scope comes with dovetail rings, I happened to have another pair of weaver rings and simply changed them out.
It took about 5 minutes to sight it in at different ranges – and no need for a screwdriver, the dials are easily turned be hand. Excellent so far.
Samantha Kogler –
At first I was upset my husband got me this for my birthday present because I wanted a scope for my Marlin .22 but didn’t think I needed it RIGHT now. After a few head shots to a couple red squirrels and chipmunks, I’m so happy for this scope! The little rats won’t get away with chewing on my house anymore. Bang! Bang! This scope was made perfect to fit my Marlin.
Arizona J –
his scope is a great value for the money. It is clear and accurate. Works great.
Only negative comment is that the screws on the mounting rings strip easily so be careful
Dazzza –
Mounted today and even before I decided to head to the range, I could see there were major issues. The first and probably the main issue was eye relief. Unless you have your eye exactly in line both horizontally and vertically (and if you find the correct eye relief), you’ll never get a clear picture which brings me to the second major issue, when you do finally get your eye in the right position, (better not breathe or you’ll lose it again) the picture was blurred, even trying to bring it in to focus was impossible and finally the third major issue, regardless of whether you get it in focus or not, even if your eye is aligned perfectly, the picture is cloudy to the point you think you’re looking through a glass of heavily watered-down milk. I never expected much for this price range, but I also expected better than this! I guess quality control at Simmons in non-existent?
Lieshecto –
It said it comes with rings. The rings didn’t come with it. I called Amazon support, they tried to call Simmons, there was no response- so no on replacement rings from them. I told Amazon support what kind of rings I needed and the tech couldn’t find them. Once I decided they couldn’t help me, I ordered the right rings.
Worth the money, as it’s Accurate at 100 yds after 25 or so rounds of dialing it in, and it was Easy To Do.
Benjamin S. Hanson –
Bought this for my girlfriends S&W m&p 15-22, tack driving scope, the only downside to the rings that come with the scope is that it sits so low on the riffle. So I purchased a AR double ring scope ring/mount combo from Burris… sits perfectly and she is thumbtacking 10 rounds inside 1×1″ targets. Great scope, amazing price
Canuck –
If you’re using it for a Marlin 795, note that the Marlin 795 dovetail is really shallow and the rings included with the scope have a bit of a hard time holding on… I had to really tighten them up to the point that I never want to unscrew the scope (yeah, that tight)… so if you want to ever shoot the Marlin 795 without this scope on it, buy a better mount.
But if you’re like me and don’t want to spend more money than you need to on a cheap rifle you can make do with the included rings… just don’t mount it near the ends of the dovetail and screw it in tight!
Nic Holbrook –
Great little scope for your plinker. Very clear glass, holds zero nicely and zooming in and out provides a very bright, sharp image. This would probably also work well as a hunting scope on your old 243, 3030, etc. I ended up buying 2.
The Random Commenter –
I was skeptical about this sight because I’ve always been told…buy a quality scope for a quality firearm…if you go cheap dont expect good results. Attached picture shows target at 25m. Having fired over 500 rounds thus far and honing in on a tight shot group…this is the result after a couple months using the Simmons scope. Super easy to zero and holds it extremely well on a .22LR
Pilder go –
The scope is clear and hold zero with no problem even with my break barrel air rifle. However if I need to adjust right, you have a problem. I turn the knob and nothing happens. Only after I fire a few shot then it would jump to what I adjusted, and then jump again until it settles. So basically you cannot adjust the scope after you zeroed it. Once the shock to the adjustment settle in, no problem and it will hold. Good thing, I just use it for back yard plinking and no need to adjust on the fly.
D. Harmon –
Bought this for my lever-action .22 LR rifle after my last Simmons scope failed (22 Mag Truplex Reticle Adjustable Objective with Rings, 3-9x32mm.) I bought a simpler, less expensive one this time. I believe I might have been much happier with a higher-quality scope. Oh, well.
This one has no adjustable objective for range, a valuable feature if you shoot at different distances. I only shoot at my rifle club’s 50-yd. range, so I need not adjust for other distances. It is reasonably accurate, holds a zero OK and mechanically is satisfactory. Some problems I have run into, not very bad, but annoying. Even so, for a scope this inexpensive, one has to accept the shortcomings.
1. Lens adjustment turret knobs. Stiff, no useful click. Not user-friendly.
2. Lens adjustment turret screw-on protective caps..Must be exceedingly careful to avoid cross-threading, because the threads are impossibly fine.
3. The rings aren’t great, a bit clumsy to adjust, but they work and stay in place.
4. Most annoying, the eye relief and “exit pupil width” (look ’em up, but it affects what you see with your eye close to the scope) performance is disappointing. The scope view seems unforgiving. So if your eye is a tiny bit closer to the scope, or a tiny bit farther away, you get “vignetting,” which means the perceived disk of vision closes in from the sides. Irritating, but again, it is an inexpensive scope. Yes, one should have the exact same cheek weld to the rifle scope every time and the scope can be positioned on the rifle for this, but it is hard to be perfectly consistent.
Yes, I recommend this scope as OK at this price, but if these limitations don’t seem acceptable to you, pay more and get a better scope.
Ron B –
Pretty good for such an inexpensive scope. Eye relief is critical at the higher magnification, but that’s to be expected at this price point. The rings that come with the scope are terrible, get some $12 Weaver rings and you’re good to go.
The scope I purchased is mounted on a Ruger 10-22 carbine with Weaver Quad Lock rings.
A. S. –
Picked this up for use on a Marlin 795 22 LR rifle. The scope isn’t half bad. I was surprised that the glass is as clear as it is on a budget scope. It should work just fine for light “benchrest” duty. It comes with it’s own scope rings…toss them immediately. No matter how tight I cranked them I could move them around by hand. Overall, not bad
AZ –
Bought this for a Savage .22LR rifle. The included rings were NOT used. I went with Weaver aluminum rings. The scope was simple to mount, and trued up well. Initial zero at 15 yards went without issue. Confirmed zero at 70 yards (normal set-up for my .22LR rigs) showed scope did not have issues with holding zero.
Scope is well made if not as nice as some other (far more expensive) scopes I have. It is clear, with only a slight bit of distortion at max power along the far edges of the FOV. Light transmission I would rate as ‘average’ for a scope, but very good for a scope this price. Controls are by and large ok, but I do find the turret adjust clicks to be nearly inaudible and the clicks themselves very soft. Still, if you pay attention, it is not an issue, and after having taken the rifle this scope is attached to out on several shooting cycles, it has not proven to be an issue with holding zero.
The zoom ring was a bit tight at first, but after some break-in time, it is now smooth and a little firm (which I like) without being hard to move. Same for the focus ring.
For the money, I would buy it again if I needed another scope for a .22LR that was earmarked for plinking and occasional varmint control.
Boomer –
I purchased this scope for a very old .22 Magnum bolt action rifle after purchasing several others that just did not fit the rifle properly. After doing additional research, I found that this Simmons Truplex was, by consensus, the scope most recommended for my rifle. The scope mounts very well on the rifle and, with it’s 3.9 inch eye relief, is easily focused. The scope offers a very bright target image. I really like this scope and highly recommend it to anyone shooting a .22 magnum.
caleb Robinson –
Got one of these used for 5 bucks years ago and this one now. Rides on a 22 in the back of a farm truck getting beaten up all day and holds zero. Great for the price
Jon Woelk –
Simmons 22 mag 3-9×32 is an excellent scope for 22 rim fire rifles and pellet guns. I bought my first Simmons 22 cal scope 27 years ago for my Ruger 10/22 rifle. Just purchased a Gamo Whisper 10x and it needed a better optic. I was able to go to a local retail store and look through the Simmons 22 mag 3-9×32 and felt for the $40.00 the clarity was super. I mounted scope with Gamo rings that came with the rifle and left the Simmons rings in the box. Again a great value to get a free set of rings with a scope. Took 10 shots. 5 at 7 yards. 5 at 25 yards to start punching the bulls with a .177 pellet. What a tremendous product for this application. 5 stars. Enjoy!
Kyle Z –
Works perfectly. Bolted right up to my otherwise stock 10-22 and was on paper in about 5 minutes. Very consistent performance at 50 years with standard velocity .22. I like that I don’t need a screwdriver to adjust. Feels well built and the finish looks like it fits on top of the standard blued 10-22 barrel. The zoom is very nice and the action is smooth. Very happy with the value of this scope. Unless you’re competing, I don’t see any reason to spend more for anything different.

I purchased this scope for a Savage model 64 semi-auto. The supplied dovetail mounts fit perfectly in the rifle grooves. Scope mounted quickly and easily. Adjusting to target after bore sighting was quick and easy. After a couple hundred rounds, scope is holding zero.
That said, I purchased a similar scope with AO, an adjustable objective lens which makes for even better accuracy. Here’s a link to that scope.

The scope is definitely decent. The scope mounting rings that come with this, don’t fit the factory mounting rail properly to my 1979 Ruger 10/22 rifle. The scope will mount to the rail but does not sit level with the rail due to the design of the clamping mechanism. Unless you like your scope canted 3 or 4 degrees to one side, purchase a quality mount compatible with this scope to fit your fire arm properly

I mounted this scope to a 702 mossberg plinkster.
Not sure how it’d fit any other gun, but fits fine on this one which belongs to my friend.
It came with an alan wrench rings, and lense covers “nice addition”
The view seems nice and clear through the scope, plenty bright. Zoom seems a lil stiff, but will be fine with more use.
My only issue, is it seems alil on the heavy side for a 22 scope. That is the only reason I havent given it a 5 star rating. Really for 30 bucks with rings included, you can’t go to wrong….
Haven’t gotten it sited in yet because the weather has been stupid, but I may update my review after doing so.
Anyways I’d recommend this scope to anyone if alil added weight isn’t an issue.

This is a nice scope, Installed it on my new Stainless Steel Ruger 10/22 Take Down Rifle, Clear bright view, and looks bad ass.
I also have one on my break Barrel Beeman 22 cal pellet rifle. I live in an urban concrete jungle. My neighborhood is older so it has large trees, mature landscaping etc. Which means we are over run with rats. The Beeman can send a pellet out at over 800 ft per minute, with this scope these rodents don’t have a chance. The 22 Caliber has some serious knock down power on small vermin.
But mostly I like to set up targets and do some plinking. I upgraded the mounts on both rifles, the supplied ones are very cheap.
These scopes have increased the accuracy and fun factor on my guns. Buy it.

Great rimfire scope for general plinking and squirrel/rabbit hunting. The glass is clear and bright. The crosshairs are of adequate thickness for hunting and has all the zoom you will need for woods or backyard plinking. Do not mistake this for the long range target scope for long distance rimfire competition, because that it is not. For sub 100 yard shots on animals and backyard targets it’s perfect. If you are looking for mildots, separate parallax adjustment and that sort of options this is not for you, go with a pricier target scope. I have one of these on a Browning BL22 and another on a Marlin XT22MAG, and can hunt for days with either. Excellent affordable scope, but know it’s purpose and limitations.

I put this on my model 60 that I’ve had since 1972 or so. It fit right on, eye relief is good. It’s clear sharp and the 3×9 is nice. The older I get the more I like variable power scopes. It’s a nice 22lr scope, basic functional. Groundhogs that were destroying our barn floor are no longer an issue. Excellent varmit control.

The lenses are pretty clear and crisp and magnification is pretty accurate with limited distortion. Mounted to my rugger 22 with no problems, good solid construction. I am taller and not having an adjustable parallax mean I have to push back away from the scope to shoot, which loosens my grouping. That shouldn’t be a problem for a longer rifle or smaller person. The great drawbacks for me on this scope are the elevation and windage adjustments. The dials are spongy and don’t give definitive click when you move them so you cant count clicks, hopefully they do not float after being set. Overall pretty good for the price.

purchased this scope for my Henry .22 lr a few days ago–went right out and sighted her in –clear optics–easy (even with gloves on) to adjust the W/E turrets – could have had a bit louder “click” on adjustment but it was fine–went out a few days later to check the zero and it was perfect
Hopefully, with more shooting done this summer, I’ll still be quite impresses with this inexpensive scope.
To be fair, I wasn’t that keen on the rings that came with the scope and didn’t install them. So I used a set of UTG dovetail rings that I had laying around.

this is my 3rd Simmons rimfire scope, for a .22 you can’t beat the price and accuracy. This scope appears new and clean but the rings appear very used, paint wore off the thumb knobs to tighten it to the rail. The knurled texture is worn down to nothing like a pair of pliers were used to tighten them.
The shipping box was in perfect shape, but both the scope box ends were torn off and taped back on, the reading materials inside looked to have been repacked and not packed together. the silica pack was missing. The tiny box with rings and allen wrench were not in the little ziplock bag.
I realize it’s a low cost rimfire scope but I paid for new, not what appears to be a used returned product.
i’ll still try and mount it and zero it on my Marlin 60 and use a black marker on the knobs to make them black again, for the texture of the knobs i’ll just have to live with them worn down.

Great for the money so far. Put it on my Lakefield Mk2 today (early savage mk2) and took about 30 shots to sight it in at 50 paces. Fired about another 60 rounds after that and it has held zero so far. Getting groups the size if a 50 cent piece at 50 yards so tree rats beware. Overall I am very pleased with the order.
Update 200 rounds has held zero, hit a squirrel in the ear at 40 yards today.
UPDATE exactly 1 month i have owned this scope fired under 500 rounds and tge scope is broken. You can no longer make out anything when looking through the glass. Complete piece of junk decided to break the day after the last day I was able to retyrn.

Pros:
•Adjusts reliably and seems to hold it’s zero.
•Glass is very acceptable for the price.
•The reticle is plain-jane, but clean.
•Seems well constructed
Cons:
•Turrets could have better report. (Clicks feel soft and they’re not really audible)
•Eye-relief is a bit excessive for a rimfire scope. I have mine mounted as far forward as possible on my Marlin model 60, and I still have to adjust my posture a bit to accommodate.
All in all, a pretty good scope for the budget. Not perfect, but easy to get along with after some getting used to.

I used different mounts for this scope, other than the ones it came with. It mounted well, sighted it in with no problems, and after a few hundred rounds it seems to hold on target. No Complaints. The price is is good, it seems to be good quality, and it shipped fast.

It is pretty much exactly what I expected! A budget, chinese optic with an american brand name stamped on it. I’m thrilled that it mounted on our new .22 rifle with rounded dovetail – I was a bit worried.
Pros:
– It is a full size “real” scope
– It is designed for .22s and other light kick guns with 11mm/ 3/8/ dovetail grooves
– It does have eyepiece focus
– The zoom adjustment knob is smooth
– the adjustment knob caps are metal of some kind not plastic
– the adjustment knobs are easy to work with your hands
Cons:
– The rings are garbage! For $10 you can get rings that are literally 2x as good. Loctite is a must by the looks of it (see pix)
– The covers are not see-thru. See-thru covers seem to be the standard now.
– No other cons so far.
Update: we liked this one so much we bought another! We use them on our .22s, which are mostly used by our kids for hunting. These scopes are a vast improvement over the open sights and the red dot sight I had on one of them before.

This is an excellent addition for a .22 rifle. Mounted this scope on a marlin bolt action with a 22 inch barrel. It may be cliche but that rifle is now a tack driver and terrorizer of every squirrel in the hickory grove. I don’t know if it would hold zero on a centerfire rifle, but on my rimfire it has withstood a couple thousand rounds without ever losing zero. I can now shoot 1inch groupings at 100 yards with ease. The optics are clear, it doesn’t fog, and the adjustments all work as they should. Had to purchase separate weaver rings and mounts for my marlin xt22, but the included rings would work on a marlin model 60.

I purchased this scope for my Marlin Model 60 and it fits perfect! For me the eye relief is just right to mount the scope just far enough back to allow me to adjust the zoom without the rifle reciever getting in the way. The sight picture is clear and crisp even in low light settings. I took my rifle outside in the middle of a snow storm to see how this scope would do. I walked outside from the comfort of my 80 degree home into 0 degree weather and the scope lenses didnt even fog up or have even as much as a haze to it. I scoped my property line out to about 100 yards and was amazed at the quality of this affordable scope. If you have been thinking about buying this scope and have a Marlin Model 60 dont read anymore reviews, dont ask the wife/girlfriend just add it to your cart and buy it! Oh and Wives/girl friends out there if you are looking to buy for your man get it he wont be disapointed. The shipping was fast and arrived just as advertised. This scope does include the scope rings needed to mount. You may want to order rings with peep sights if you want the option of using the iron sights on your rifle.

There was almost no cushioning in the shipping box. The scope was in the 2″ square, rectangular, product box inside a 6″ square, rectangular box, with only one ‘small’ piece piece air cushion packing with only 3 of the sections inflated. This did nothing to cushion the scope.
The scope was difficult to find the target sight picture then it would be lost with the ‘slightest’ movement. Also the sight picture was never very sharp even with fully adjusting the eyepiece. I compared it side by side to an old scope and the old scope sight picture was much sharper.

Very nice scope for the money. I’ll use this one on my 10/22. I like that it came with rings. The adjustments are tight as expected. The windage and elevation click stops could be a little more tactile in felt click. When I turn the elevation and windage knobs I’d like a little more tactile feel of the click then this scope has. In one direction it’s fine but the other direction is more mushy. That’s why it got 4 stars. I have yet to mount this and use it but thought I’d get a comment out there. The refund Simmons offered was killer too I might add. That brings the price of the scope down too low to pass up! It filled my criteria for the 10/22. An inexpensive gun, with inexpensive scope, for inexpensive fun:)
