Ignore the clown that decided to give this firearm a 1 star for being made in China. This is a great shotgun. The rivets are beautiful and the finish is so good you’d thing this gun cost way more than it actually does. I was not expecting this much quality for the price. Ran many 00 buck shells with absolutely no issues right out of the box and I didn’t even need to adjust the gas settings. Note that these are compatible with KUSA Komrad magazines as well.

Great shotgun and many upgrades for it too.

Be advised,
After approximately 50 rounds the charging handle that is attached to the bolt assembly snapped off.
Will follow up regarding this review after we contact SDS Imports regarding their warranty and response time.

Did not have metal piece that keeps bolt carrier open to load/unload magazine’s/empty. Once loaded goes boom like I want it to.
Marlon P –
Solid feeling shotgun. Haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet, but I’m extremely excited to do so. Wish I got a few more mags for it.

I always wanted a Saiga or a Vepr. When the import ban happened I heard these were a Chinese Saiga copy, but I was kept away by the Chinese thing. Well, I finally decided take the chance, and I am glad I did! Let me say this, it is not a shotgun for someone who thinks they can take it straight out the box and run it perfect. It failed to feed first shell with provide 5 round SDS magazine. Follower stuck and it failed to chamber every other shell. It has 4 position gas block, out of the box it cycled wolf 2 3/4 buck but not #8 low brass, this is normal, need experiment with gas positions for various loads. I ran few mags through first day. Mixed slug buck and bird, picked up couple SDS 10 round mags, same issue out of package the followers stick, so expect mag break in and clean them up really well, hand cycle shells and make sure follower doesnt hang up. Promag mags did not lock in place, SG tactical mags did not lock in place, Vepr mag did not lock in place, I am only using SDS mags so far. After first day I cleaned shotgun for first time, it was covered in a very thick grease, after a good cleaning, the next range trip was 100% improvement. Ran heavy slug on the second from smallest gas hole position and it cylced fine. Mags still hung up the follower a little but I am sure it will get better with more cleaning and break in. Oh and loading, recommend load with bolt open, mine did not have bolt hold open feature so I manually hold charging handle open with one hand and load the mag and it is lot easier for me. Near as I can tell, Saiga parts will work, going to find out soon when I am ready to begin modding it. For the price it is great, but needs some work and patience to get gun to run. Don’t buy if expecting take out of box and run flawlessly.

To be honest, I was expecting something a bit rough. Well, was I ever wrong. The quality of finish is excellent. The parkerizing looks even overall, and holds oil like a sponge. The chrome-plated bore is as spotless, bright, and slick as any I’ve ever seen. While the length of pull is a bit shorter than I’m used to, I can work with it. You’ll want to invest a couple hours in cleaning out and off the copious amounts of preservative they are soaked in, but that’s half the fun anyway. Only relatively few rounds down the pipe so far, but haven’t had to mess with the gas system yet, and that’s counting light 2 3/4″ target loads to high brass 3″ 000 buck. Very happy with it, and if they are all this well-built, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking.

Well I ordered one from PSA when they were $299. I liked it so much I wanted more. PSA was sold out so I ordered 3 more from ukrguns. So I have 4 currently. I have had zero issues with all of them, though I only have 100 rounds through each. They function great and are a ton of fun. My only issues with them is that the finish leaves something to desire. It’s a parkerized finish that is dull and a little rough. I plan on doing a duracoat job on them in the summer. The other issue I have is that the action was rough on 3 of the 4 that I purchased. So I got out my dremel and polished the rails and bolts. Now they are smooth. Not as smooth as my vepr 12 or saiga 12 but good enough to go out and have fun. I wanted these because the import ban on Russian weapons. So these fill the void and keep me from wearing out my more collectible shotguns. I would recommend these shotguns to anyone looking for a saiga 12 clone.

Shoots even Big Box store cheap ammo on the proper gas puck setting (the largest hole). My boys and I have been shooting this all weekend. I only ask myself why I did not buy one sooner.
I cycled the action about 500 -700 times to smooth out rough rails. I understand breaking it in as such is better to do with polishing compound. However, the shotgun cycles very well with no issues thus far. We put about 200 rounds through it. Initial shots jammed on first 2 magazines. The gun soon got used to shooting, smoothed itself out, and started to feed all ammo without stoppage.
I don’t know what to say. The Lynx is simply fun with a capitol F. The AK platform is simply genius and the shotgun gauge goes perfectly.
We use birdshot. I have tried no other ammo yet. No issues after the initial 50 shots.
I like the finish. It is a rough texture parkerization. Rough, as an AK should be. The internals are painted and the stock is a cheap plastic creation. I put a Romanian grip on the gun. I intend to replace the stock with a laminated wood version when I find a suitable price online. I also placed a UTG butt stock cushion on the end. Definitely grab a cushion! Recoil is what you would expect from a 12 gauge. Firing the weapon and insanely giggling makes you forget the bruising.
Just a fun weapon. I would suggest a KUSA magazine. The SDS mags are too thin and seem fragile. I hear Csspec make a great steel mag but I can not say as fact because I do not own one.
For the price and level of enjoyment, I should have purchased one of the Lynx years ago. Wow! Just a good time in a box. I missed the Saiga’s era, but am overjoyed to have an opportunity to shoot the Lynx.

Beware of this manufacturer. They claim to honor a warranty for defective parts, and initially they said they were going to fix my Lynx 12 issue until the customer support person mysteriously vanished and was replaced. Now, after a clear email chain showing I would be covered under warranty, I am told it would not be covered and the previous support representative did not handle the situation correctly! This doesn’t give me any confidence in the company if future issues should arise, so good luck getting any help. I don’t know how the shotgun will function over time, but based on its “warranty” alone it deserves 1 star in my book.

Shipped VERY fast. Ordered it on a Friday and got it on the next Thursday. The gun is very solid and sturdy, no weird clunky parts that move when you shake the gun. Put about 100 rounds through it so far, the only timed it jammed was when we hip fired it and attempted to bump fire it, which can happen easily when the gun is shot improperly. It’s pretty easy to take apart and change out the accessories. When I got it, it was caked in oil so I would recommend using your own grease or oil because the stuff they put on seems cheap. Can’t wait to get a 20 round drum mag for this thing! 5/5

I have always wanted an AK 47 type of shotgun but were always priced higher than I wanted to pay, besides being hard to get. The SDS Lynx 12 checked all the boxes. It looks like a Saga and is compatible with all the Saga 12 accessories, so you can customize it as much as you want plus the Saga magazines and drums work with this shotgun as well. I have not had a chance to shoot it yet, but it is well made and functions perfectly. I can’t wait to get it out to the range and run some rounds through it. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The price you can’t beat anywhere and ukrguns service is impeccable. I highly recommend both the shotgun and ukrguns to everyone that is looking to purchase a firearm. I am a private FFL and I have been doing business with ukrguns for a long time and I have never been disappointed. ukrguns does not sell junk, if you are on the fence, I would not hesitate too long or you might miss out on a great shotgun at an unbeatable price.

My product was shipped without paperwork, now I’m having issues picking it up no serial or model numbers
Michael C –
Actually very surprised. Quality of this shotgun is actually just as good and in some ways better than my Saigas. Very pleased with it.
Justin Y –
Quality gun for the price. Cycles rough until you break it in. I recommend Winchester Heavy Target loads. Cheap and only takes about 60 rounds. Has an adjustable gas system (end of the gun above barrel. Has dots to reverence load sizes and can be turned by pushing a little button in with a pen or even 8mm hex key and rotate the dial to the load) and a bolt carrier lock (wierd rectangle button in the trigger guard, push it in when the bolts heald back. You’ll need to use the charge handle to put it into battery tho) really customizable and mags are everywhere. Well worth the price if you use shotguns a lot
Ryan P –
Functions great. Kicks like a 6-legged mule with the stock 5-round mag, even after adjusting the gas port to match the full-load rounds. But it’s a 12ga, so what do you expect? Stock has such a large drop that there’s no such thing as a “cheek weld” to align the stock iron sights; a Red-dot on a tall scope mount remedies this well enough. The butt plate is so small even a “small” slip-on recoil pad is too big; will need to add some comb height, which will remedy 2 of the slight deficiencies at once. The available larger Saiga mag’s that are supposed to be a direct fit aren’t as they don’t catch the mag retainer, but should be easy enough to machine the mag’s to work with it.
Just a fun, fun gun!

JUST WHAT I EXPECTED FAST DELIVERY THE GUN SHOOTS GREAT AND I’M VERY SATISFIED WITH THE GUN.

Great value for the money. If you’ve been wanting a Saiga 12, this is a good substitute if you can get over the fact that its made in China. Something to keep in mind, most things made in China are often crap, but the Chinese do know how to make AK’s. There are plenty of old MAK-90’s and Norinco AK’s still around 20 years later still running and going for a premium. This shotgun ran cheap walmart birdshot and even my crappy BB shot low-recoil reloads. The gas system is adjustable too.
Chad B –
Yes you want this thing its awesome dont believe YouTube it will eat any shell you throw at it as long as it’s 3 inch and below of course
Stephen N –
This shotgun is loads of fun, the stock magazine that came with it fed perfectly. I shot everything from 3″ nitro turkey #4, 4 buck, 00 buck and federal target loads. No Failure to cycle. Gave the firearm a bit of clean up due to the excess oil. Shoots a little low, luckily even though the sights are non adjustable, it takes standard AK furniture, I put a magpul zhukov stock with 3/4 riser, midwest industries scope mount and topped it with a holosun 510c. Works much better than I expected. Now to find out if it actually accepts AK trigger groups.

The lynx is an extreme value. I just snagged a second. Have 1250rds through my first so far. It eats slugs and target loads with ease. Only a few issues with some of the less uniform buckshot hulls. The smooth ones feed just fine. Can’t beat this for $300. Add a sight mount, Sig Romeo5 and a few KUSA mags and you’ve got a fun package.

My Lynx 12 was received both quickly and in great shape. After cleaning and lubricating I have taken it to the range twice, both times with just the included 5 round box max. On the lowest gas setting I have run a variety of shells so far, including Winchester #6 shot, Federal bulk #8 from walmart, Federal 3″ 00 buck, law enforcement buck, fiocchi low recoil slugs and Remington “Sluggers”. So far the only issues I’ve had is the occasional last round becoming stuck on extraction (approximately 1 out of 3 mags) when using the federal bulk. Switching to gas port 2 reduced the number of those, I have yet to set it higher due to time constraints. When running the fiocchi low recoil slugs I also had the last round extraction issue and had it once on the 3rd round. After switching to port two I ran 3 more magazines with no issue, and had no issue with the Remington slugs on any port setting. The only sad part for me is that she currently shoots a couple inches low and right at 10 yards, but the shots are placed consistently, and I plan to attach an optic so I am not particularly upset about it. Overall, I have never been a huge fan of shotgun shooting for recreation ( I practice with my Mossbergs for proficiency, but I dont enjoy the experience), however so far I find myself looking for the next chance I get to hit the range or the farm with my Lynx. I dont know if I got lucky and got a good one out of the box, but I highly recommend it based on my own experience so far.

Ordered this because it was$300 free shipping, ordered a 5 round kusa magazine too. Got the gun before the magazine in 2 days!! Ran about 50 shells of low brass bird thru the gun and it’s held up decent so far. First 3 shells were failure to feed, after that it was smooth sailing!! The kusa mag needs a bit of filing to loosen it up for faster smoother reloads. Overall for the price and service, 100% would recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap realizable semi automatic 12 gauge magazine fed shot gun. For $300 it’s very hard to beat! The gun is compatible with ak47 stamped stocks, and pistol grips. And companies make aftermarket parts for this so a lot of customization. It’s made from the same Factory the type 56 Chinese ak47 was made in. They know what they’re doing! 10/10 love this gun, easy buy

Though initially skeptical, I’ve found this to be a well-made and thoughtfully upgraded riff on the Russian Saiga. The 4 position gas regulator helped me breeze through everything from the cheapest light target loads to the mightiest buck and slugs available to me. The finish is rough but appropriate for an AK pattern firearm, the chrome lining looks as even and bright as any I’ve seen from any top name manufacturer. The factory 5-round magazine functions well but could use some light filing for faster reloading (it takes some reeling and rocking to seat/unseat). Overall, it reminds me of an honest and dependable Norinco AK (but in 12 gauge) – very robust, quite solid, functions properly and internals show no signs of excess wear after hundreds of stout rounds. I’m pleased enough that I’ve ordered another and if they stay at this price, I might not stop there. Absolutely pleased and ukrguns has the lowest price BY FAR. The value is almost absurd for such an impressively engineered weapon.

After getting the gun home I took it apart and gave it a good cleaning. I shot 2 boxes of Remington Express Long Range #6 shot and a box of 00 Buckshot through it to break it in. I then shot some Walmart Special Federal Multi purpose #7 1/2 shot through it. Not one Failure to Feed! I have ordered a scope rail and a red dot for it plus a Molot GK-1 Muzzle Break for it and planning on ordering a new stock. The factory one is to short for me. It has a pretty good trigger for a shotgun. I am waiting on my red dot and muzzle break to get here before I do any more real shooting with it. I am very pleased with the gun!

Rear sight slid off when I disassembled for the first time to oil the gun. Still slides everywhere. Not impressed.

I love AK shotguns and this one is no exception. The lynx works awesome and got it for a great price. I own the Saiga 12 and it%u2019s an great copy but better since it runs Fedral Wal-Mart bulk pack right out the box. Thats maybe because the 4 position gas system rather than the Saiga 12 factory 2 position. The factory box is a cheap cardboard box but ukrguns Shop dose overpack it for shipping. Shipped fast. Two of my buddies ordered one from ukrguns%u2019s right after shooting it.

Fantastic firearms for the price. Switched out the stock for and grip now it is excellent.

this shotgun is worth every penny! who cares if its chinesium its 300 bucs! literally cbeaper than a mossberg 500 but way cooler to shoot its a no brainer
Michael A G –
love this ak shotgun, right out of the gate, shot 75 slugs and not one mishap,a sore shoulder next day, thank you to ukrguns as always
Thomas C –
This shotgun is worth every penny. Was hesitant to buy at first, not knowing if it was a p.o.s or a good buy. Shot and cycled fine right out of box. Very well built and good quality. I have Ak’s and Shotguns and this is my favorite . You will not go wrong with purchasing one.

The SDS Lynx12 is a great entertainment value. I like it. No FTF or FTE’s yet, even with some decades old ammo I had, just plain fun. That said, it is obvious where it was made, but it functions well, and that is what is important. For the price it is, in my opinion, an excellent value. I have shot birdshot, buckshot, and slugs so far, and all have gone bang-splat! So, no regrets and I would buy it again.
